Al Calcutt Named as Assistant Principal of JMS

Florence County School District Five is pleased to announce that Al Calcutt has been hired as assistant principal at Johnsonville Middle School for the 2021-22 school year. Mr. Calcutt has 26 years of experience in education. He has served as an assistant principal at Dr. Ronald E. McNair School of Digital Communication and Leadership in FSD3 for the past two years. Prior to that, Mr. Calcutt has taught and served many years as an athletic director/head football coach. Mr. Calcutt is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, and he has also earned an Ed. Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Mr. Calcutt is originally from Johnsonville and is a graduate of Johnsonville High School. He is married to Wendy Calcutt, media specialist at JHS, and they currently reside in the Williams Hill community just outside of Hemingway. They have three children. Mr. Calcutt is very excited and looks forward to his new role as assistant principal at Johnsonville Middle School.
