In my 13 years as a South Carolina educator, I have been privileged to work with students and teachers in both elementary and middle school settings. I currently serve as the school library media specialist at Johnsonville Middle School. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Francis Marion University and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina. My  journey into education was inspired by teachers who saw my potential and helped me grow as a student. A love of children, research, and books led me to the wonderful world of libraries. Working with classroom teachers to create memorable learning experiences for students is one of my favorite parts of my job! My greatest accomplishments in public education include transforming my current school library into a busy hub for learning and helping students develop a lifelong passion for reading.
