Bio

I am Suzette Coker, the 5Th-8th grade reading resource teacher at Johnsonville Middle School. This is my thirtieth year teaching. I spent my first twenty -one years of teaching in Williamsburg County teaching many grade levels and subjects. I taught reading and social studies in 2nd grade for one year, 3rd for four years and 5th grade for four years. I taught students with learning disabilities for twelve years. I have been teaching students with learning disabilities at Johnsonville Middle School for nine years. Teaching students with special needs is definitely what I was born to do .It is one of my passions. I did home-bound instruction for my nephew that has special needs for four years. These were very special years for me! I planned to retire after teaching twenty-eight years but I just can’t seem to give it up.

I have been married for twenty- eight years to my high school sweetheart, Ron. We graduated together from Johnsonville High School in 1987. We got married in 1992 after college. I graduated from Francis Marion College which is now changed to a university. We have a son and daughter. Dalton is twenty- five years old and lives in Charleston and Gracelyn “Gracie” is twenty-two years old and lives in Columbia. She is a senior in college. I have been blessed with two tender-hearted and loving children. I have many pets that I love dearly. Most people know that I love to rescue animals, especially dogs. It is also one of my passions. They bring a lot of joy and happiness to my life. My family enjoys camping, boating, watching football (college & NFL) and going to the beach. I definitely have been blessed with a great life.
